Mr John Lim is Group Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of ARA Asset Management Limited. He is a Non-Executive Director of ARA Asset Management (Fortune) Limited, ARA Trust Management (Suntec) Limited, ARA Asset Management (Prosperity) Limited, ARA Trust Management (Cache) Limited and Hui Xian Asset Management Limited. Mr Lim is also the Chairman of APM Property Management Pte. Ltd., Suntec Singapore International Convention & Exhibition Services Pte. Ltd. and the management council of The Management Corporation Strata Title Plan No. 2197 (Suntec City).

In addition, Mr Lim is an Independent Director and the Chairman of the remuneration committee of Singapore-listed Teckwah Industrial Corporation Limited, the Chairman of the property management committee of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce & Industry, the Managing Director of Chinese Chamber Realty Private Limited and a Director of the Financial Board of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce. He is also Chairman of the Asia Pacific Real Estate Association (“APREA”), the Consultative Committee to the Department of Real Estate, National University of Singapore and a Patron of Jurong Spring Citizens’ Consultative Committee.

Mr Lim has more than 30 years of experience in the real estate industry and has received many notable corporate awards. These include the PERE Global Awards 2016 Industry Figure of the Year: Asia, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year Singapore 2012, Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of the Year – Financial Services 2012 and the Outstanding CEO of the Year 2011 at the Singapore Business Awards 2012. Mr Lim, along with the Board of Directors of ARA, is also a recipient of the prestigious Best Managed Board (Gold) Award at the Singapore Corporate Awards 2012. In 2017, he was conferred the Public Service Medal (PBM) by the President of Singapore in recognition of his contributions to the community.

Mr Lim holds a Bachelor of Engineering (First Class Honours) in Mechanical Engineering, a Master of Science in Industrial Engineering, as well as a Diploma in Business Administration, each from the National University of Singapore.

Ms Chew Gek Khim is a lawyer by training. She has been Chairman of The Straits Trading Company Limited since 24 April 2008, first as Non-Executive and Non-Independent Chairman and then as Executive Chairman since 1 November 2009. Ms Chew is also Executive Chairman of the Tecity Group, which she joined in 1987. She is Chairman of Malaysia Smelting Corporation Berhad and ARA Trust Management (Suntec) Limited, and sits on the Board of ARA Asset Management Holdings Pte. Ltd. and Singapore Exchange Limited.

Ms Chew is also Deputy Chairman of Tan Chin Tuan Foundation in Singapore and Chairman of Tan Sri Tan Foundation in Malaysia. She is a Member of the Securities Industry Council of Singapore and Board of Governors of S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies. She was the Chairman of the National Environment Agency Board of Singapore from 2008 to 2015. Ms Chew was also previously a Director of CapitaLand Retail China Trust (formerly CapitaRetail China Trust Management Limited), a Board Member of the Singapore Totalisator Board and a Member of the SSO Council.

Ms Chew graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1984. She was awarded the Chevalier de l’Ordre National du Mérite in 2010, the Singapore Businessman of the Year 2014 in 2015, and the Meritorious Service Medal at the National Day Awards in 2016.

Mr Tan Tiong Cheng was appointed as Independent and Non-Executive Director of The Straits Trading Company Limited since 1 July 2013.

Mr Tan is currently the Advisor to Knight Frank Pte Ltd and President of Knight Frank Asia Pacific Pte Ltd. He was the Executive Chairman of Knight Frank Pte Ltd’s Group of Companies until 31 March 2017. Over the last four decades, he has amassed an extensive and in-depth knowledge of the real estate industry. Mr Tan is an Independent and Non-Executive Director of UOL Group Limited and a Member of its Audit Committee. He is also an Independent Director, Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a Member of the Audit Committee of Heeton Holdings Limited.

A Colombo Plan Scholar, Mr Tan graduated top of his class with a Diploma in Urban Valuation from the University of Auckland, New Zealand. A Licensed Appraiser, he is also a Fellow Member of the Singapore Institute of Valuers and Surveyors, and the Association of Property and Facilities Management, an Associate Member of the New Zealand Institute of Valuers and a Senior Member of The Property Institute of New Zealand. He served as a Member of the Valuation Review Board until 30 April 2016.

Mr Chua Tian Chu was the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Meritus Hotels & Resorts from 2012 to 2013. Prior to this, Mr Chua held the positions of Executive Vice President of International Sector and Greater China Region, as well as Head, Global Financial Institutions Group of United Overseas Bank Limited, and Managing Director and Head of Investment Finance of Citigroup Private Bank (Asia Pacific Region) as well as Head of Citigroup Corporate Banking in Singapore. He was also formerly the Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Far East Orchard Limited (then known as Orchard Parade Holdings Limited).

Mr Chua holds a Master in Business Administration from the National University of Singapore, a Master in Theological Studies (magna cum laude) from the Asia Theological Center, and a Master of Divinity from the East Asia School of Theology. Mr Chua also has a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He has also attended the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.

Mr Andy Lim is Chief Executive Officer of the JL Family Office (“JLFO”), the private investment holding group of companies established by Mr John Lim, Founder and Group CEO of ARA Asset Management Limited. Mr Lim is responsible for sourcing, structuring, negotiating and executing the group’s investments. Under his directorship, JLFO currently has investments across multiple sectors across the globe.

Mr Lim has over 10 years of experience in the real estate sector and is a key member in the set-up of Straits Real Estate Pte. Ltd. (“SRE”), a S$950 million joint venture between JLFO and The Straits Trading Company Limited in 2013. At SRE, he was Director of Business Development from 2013 to 2018, responsible for developing and implementing growth opportunities and investments for the company as well as all legal and operational matters. He currently serves on the board of SRE as a Non-Executive Director.

He is a passionate supporter of education in the philanthropic space, backing causes that strengthen and encourage all-rounded achievement of students who come from challenging backgrounds. As Executive Director of Lim Hoon Foundation Limited (“LHF”), the philanthropic arm of JLFO, Mr Lim oversees LHF’s philanthropic efforts to ensure that the Foundation gives back to society in a holistic and sustainable manner, focusing on the area of education. Since its formation, LHF has provided bursaries and scholarships to underprivileged students from primary to tertiary levels, including a S$4 million endowment (inclusive of dollar-for-dollar match by the Singapore Government) with Singapore Management University to award 12 bond-free scholarships annually.

A lawyer by training, Mr Lim joined Allen & Gledhill LLP (“A&G”) as a pupil in 2010 and left as a Senior Associate in 2014. During his tenure, Mr Lim was part of the Corporate Real Estate department where he was involved in establishing and listing real estate investment trusts, real estate business trusts, direct and indirect property acquisitions, divestments of real estate, master lease-back transactions and property joint development and development projects.

Mr Lim is an active member of the Singapore Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (“SCCCI”), serving as a committee member in the Youth Business Affairs Committee.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Liverpool and was admitted to the Singapore Bar in 2011.
